Topic: Behavioral Finance and the Case for Systematic Decision-Making Processes
Speaker: Wesley R. Gray, Ph.D., Executive Managing Member, Empiritrage LLC
Wesley Gray will make the case that humans are not 100% rational beings as some economists assume. He will show how our fundamental biases detract from optimal investing activities and argue, based on empirical evidence, that we should utilize systematic decision-making processes in our investing activities. He will highlight model-driven decision-making versus expert-driven, or “gut instinct” decision-making. Gray will also outline the argument that using simple models rather than expert recommendations should improve your investing outcomes.
